Understanding Children: Avoiding the Infamous "Personality Clash"

Do you ever think to yourself as a parent, "how could this child be mine?!" This presentation unpacks a range of personality characteristics in order to help parents gain a deeper understanding that despite environment, family and culture, behaviours, attitudes and interactions are also influenced by our genes. We are all born with some elements of temperament that even before the environment has had any chance to influence us, impacts on our interactions and how others may interact with us. In families, often there are battles and challenges that are influenced to some degree by our own personality and how that works or doesn’t work with the personality other family members. This session provides strategies to help avoid personality clashes and to provide clues as to how best to interact with each other despite our different personality characteristics.
