It's one of those weeks where I find myself travelling around regional/rural Victoria.
It's great to be meeting teachers, principals and parents. This rural tour covers not only a lot of mileage, but also a range of topics. School Readiness, the importance of oral language, the importance of play and the Australian Developmental Curriculum.
It is very exciting to see schools using active engagement alongside explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy to engage children.
i am always struck by the enormous commitment of teachers and parents in working together to support and educate young children.
