Creating an Engaging & Intentional Learning Environment - A Developing Brains Perspective

Join us from the comfort of your living room, garden or even your work environment for our NEW online delivery of Creating an Engaging and Intentional Learning Environment. As with the Face to Face event, our online event is also a NESA APPROVED PD.

This dynamic webinar by Dr Michael Nagel and our Walker Learning Consultant examines through presentation slides, video, expert panel discussions and audience Q&A on how to create engaging and meaningful environments that promote and sustain children’s learning through play.

This PD is split into two manageable sessions of 3 hours over 2 consecutive days. Dr Michael Nagel, Associate Professor, Teacher and Academic at a leading Queensland university will be presenting on the first day. Dr Nagel is one of Australia’s foremost experts in the areas of cognition & learning in human development, early learning and neurological development in children & adolescent psychology. He will be exploring the importance of creating spaces that nurture and inspire whilst facilitating learning. At the end of his session, he will be joined by our Walker Learning consultant for an expert panel discussion and audience Q&A.

On the second day, our Walker Learning consultant will explore:

  • The key elements of quality learning environments indoors and outdoors
  • Considerations for design, set up, materials and equipment
  • The importance of open ended learning spaces
  • Supporting children to resource their own learning
  • Planning for ongoing modifications
  • Intentional teaching.

You will also introduce examples of how to add and use everyday materials within a realistic budget to assist children in their learning, engagement and exploration both indoors and outdoors.

We encourage interaction throughout both days with polls and quizzes, we have a comment board where we will invite you to share your thoughts and post questions for our experts. We also have a special offer at the end of the session for all online attendees – 1 month FREE to our membership program launching this month.

This is the session for those educators who want to offer inviting, collaborative and engaging environments as part of Investigations and Walker Learning.

This PD Session is suitable for teachers and educators working with children aged 3 to 8 years of age.
