Come and join us to discover how to incorporate more literacy and numeracy into your play-based setting in fun, practical and child friendly ways.

Participants attending Playing with Literacy and Numeracy in Early Childhood will:

  • Gain understanding of the importance of promoting literacy and numeracy for young children in developmentally appropriate ways.
  • Recognise and create scaffolding opportunities for literacy and numeracy.
  • Extend your knowledge and skill of inserting the language of literacy and numeracy into everyday play experiences.
  • Be inspired by examples of environments and resources to introduce and extend children’s literacy and numeracy
  • Consider planning possibilities to support proactive, responsive and intentional teaching
