LINKING OF LITERACY, NUMERACY & SUBJECT AREAS TO INVESTIGATIONS AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS (F to Year 2)           

A range of practical strategies and ideas are covered to assist educators in providing additional and meaningful literacy and numeracy into the school day.

The morning session focuses on the variety of ways literacy and numeracy can be strengthened and deepened during investigations. We examine how literacy and numeracy links are made through planning and documentation, and how explicit instruction continues during formal teaching throughout the day.

The afternoon session explores the importance of creating spaces that nurture and inspire whilst facilitating learning. We also unpack considerations for design, set up, materials and equipment and the importance of open ended learning spaces.
