Walker Learning recognises teachers, leaders, and schools achieving Accreditation as EXPERT PRACTITIONERS in The Walker Learning Approach. Walker Learning Partnership Schools receive complimentary mentoring and collaborate with Walker Learning to host Walker Learning Study Tours.

Walker Learning has been implemented in Australia and internationally for over 25 years. It is Australia’s first major play and individual inquiry-based pedagogy which is evidence-based and researched.

Walker Learning is a personalised and holistic intentional teaching and learning approach.
It underpins all curriculum areas and encourages children to become active participants in their learning. Teachers and leaders who are accredited have completed the required professional learning modules AND demonstrated the ability to plan using Walker Learning documentation, use the environment learning spaces applicable for F/K/R-2 or 3-6 and demonstrate all the key elements as listed in the accreditation criteria. Accreditation is dependent upon set criteria being met and assessed by our Walker Learning consultant.

Early Life Foundations and Walker Learning Micro-Credentials.

Walker Learning and Early Life Foundations micro-credentials provide the earner with verified evidence of the skills achieved through digital badging. Leadership and Partnership Schools digital badges can be placed on a team profile, added to a website, embedded in email footers, shared on social media, and added to digital documents.

To earn Leadership Accreditation, school leaders would need to complete all the professional development pathways related to the year groups for which the pedagogy is being implemented. Leaders must be able to demonstrate a rigorous understanding of the key elements of the Walker Learning pedagogy and a pedagogical commitment to play-based and inquiry learning through the Walker Learning Approach by implementing a whole school approach, supporting teachers with resources, and ongoing professional learning from Early Life Foundations.

Earn your digital credential as an Accredited Walker Learning Pedagogical Leader

Complete the following level 1 module pathway by attending these Early Life Foundations/Walker Learning hosted professional development sessions either through our scheduled calendar of events or by booking customised sessions for your team. Once level 1 is completed, you can start your journey to Accreditation (level 2) through mentoring and pedagogical discussion to support the implementation of the Walker Learning Pedagogy. Contact us to book Mentoring with one of our Walker Learning consultants. Digital certificates and badges will be issued. The digital badge can be placed on website team profiles, email footers, social media handles and documents, demonstrating to your community your leadership expertise in personalised and developmentally appropriate learning for children in primary school.

Walker Learning Partnership School

To become a Walker Learning Accredited school, the school must:

F-2: Must have a minimum of 2 teachers and 1 leadership in K/F/P or R to Year 2 who have achieved Accreditation plus the early years team to have completed a minimum of 14 hours of PD as a whole school approach and engaged in mentoring across the school for a minimum of 2 full days in 18 months subject to all criteria being met.

F-6: Must have a minimum of 2 teachers and 1 leadership in BOTH F-2 and 3-6 who have achieved Accreditation plus remaining teachers to have completed a minimum of 14 hours of PD as a whole school approach and engaged in mentoring across the school for a minimum of 4 full days over 3 years subject to all criteria being met.
